Funeral services for Billy Rodman Barr, 93, of Springfield, SC will be held at two o'clock p.m., Monday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Springfield, SC with the Reverend Timmy Barr officiating. The family will receive friends from four to six p.m., Sunday at Folk Funeral Home, Williston, SC. Memorial contributions may be sent to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 150 Hi Cotton Lane, Springfield, SC 29146. Mr. Billy passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023.
Born in Orangeburg County, SC, he was a son of the late Herman Carroll Barr and Ruby Caughman Barr. He was member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he attended faithfully until he became ill. He also served as a deacon. He was an amazing husband, father and PaPa. He loved nothing more than being with his family and enjoyed his front porch swing. He retired from E.I. DuPont at Savannah River Plant. He also served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Lois Abbott Barr of the home; a daughter, Janice (Marion) Brown; sons, Rodney (Joy) Barr, Sr. and Kent (Dawn) Barr all of Springfield; grandchildren, Justin (Hanna) Brown, Trent (Rachel) Brown, Dakota (Caitlin) Brown, Rodney (Julia) Barr, Jr., Allyson Barr (Terry Roberts), Mason Barr (Ashlie Headden), and Kelci (Chad) Bernasconi; great grandchildren, Skylar Brown, Dakota "K.J." Brown, Jr., James Barr, Summer Roberts, Cole Roberts, and Bryson Barr and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Logan Tyler Barr; his brothers and sisters-in-law, O'Neal (Ray) Barr, Allen "Tom" (Betty) Barr and Clyde Barr.
