Barbara Jean Stitely, 74, of Round Rock, TX, formerly of Westminster, MD, passed away on November 21, 2023 in Georgetown, TX. Born in Providence, RI, she was the daughter of the late Lionel Salvas, Sr. and Georgette Salvas. She was the wife of Frank Stitely, her husband of 54 years.
Barbara dearly loved her family and friends and was known for being kind and always putting others first. She enjoyed the casino, playing scratch offs, and her happy place was the beach. She survived so much throughout her life, she was lovingly known as Wonder Woman.
She is survived by her daughters Sherri Fryatt and her husband, Chris Fryatt, and Carolyn Dedmon and her husband, Brett Dedmon, grandchildren, Connor Dedmon, Olivia Fryatt, Logan Fryatt, and Danielle Dedmon, who called her GayGay as much as she tried to change that.
Also survived by brothers Lionel Salvas, Jr. and wife Diane Salvas, and Robert Thomas and wife Judy Thomas, sisters Marion Fratus and Roberta Salvas, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carol Thompson and husband Tom Thompson, Kathy Schmidt and husband Matthew Schmidt, and Earl Parks. In addition, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew, who she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by sister-in-law, Sharon Parks, sister Fran Ventura and husband Tony Ventura, and brother-in-law Roger Fratus.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with Deacon Don Myers officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
