After loosing Betty in 1990, Doug met Mary Lamb and they were married in 1991.

His home in Golden Acres was always a welcome place to visit and receive counsel, which he was eager to provide. Doug was a faithful member and leader at Golden Acres United Methodist Church. His faithful leadership also involved him in District and conference activities to enhance the connection of the United Methodist Church.

His leadership and vision were essential to the church and it's mission in the community and in the world. Doug's call to "Sing the Gospel" was evident during his time as song leader and his strong voice from the congregation. on special occasions he blessed us with special music to enhance our worship experience.
