DAVENPORT, OKLA.--Marvin Ray Rush was born November 25, 1933 in Abbyville, and departed this life on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at his home in Davenport, Okla., at the age of 74.

He was the son of Ralph and Marjorie Nee (McIver) Rush.

He married Janice Coots on February 5, 1955 in Melrose, Mass.

Marvin served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a telephone repairman for Central Oklahoma for many years. Marvin was a member of the American Legion Post in Chandler.

Survivors include wife. Janice of the home; sons, John Rush of Reno, Nev., Jeff Rush of Stroud, Okla.; daughters, Barbara Sanders of Millbrook, Ala., Kristi Rush of Walnut Ridge, Ark.; brothers, Don Rush of Pittsburg, Ed Rush of Abbyville, Ellen Mitzner of Abbyville, Helen Hanvercroft of Hutchinson, Vivian Ogburn of Hutchinson, Marian Rank of Abbyville, Buelah Vanhoose of
Abbyville; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.

His parents preceded Marvin in death.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Chandler, Okla. with Rev. Miles Knutson presiding. Graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday April 19, 2008 in Abbyville Cemetery, Abbyville, Kansas.
