Homer C. McGrew, 83, of Fredericktown passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on October 17, 1940 in Putnam County, West Virginia to the late James and Virgie (Persinger) McGrew.

Homer retired from Kokosing where he worked for 26 years as a Master mechanic including heavy equipment mechanic. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, riding motorcycles, blacksmithing, building airboats, and working with hydraulics to mention a few. Homer built the family home and made many pieces of furniture including a baby crib for the family. He built a Shelby Cobra and spent the summers taking it to car shows and winning many trophies. Homer was the guy that everyone went to either have him fix something or get his advice on how to fix it themselves.

In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann McClanahan; and a brother, Harry Ray "Sonny" McGrew.

The family will observe a private burial in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
