Wesley Baker, 27 years old, while at work in the Golden Glow mine near Webb City last Wednesday night received injuries from an explosion of powder which he was tamping from which he died yesterday morning at 9:45 o'clock. Remainder of paragraph deleted due to graphic content.
Baker leaves a wife and a three-year-old child. All arrangements had been made for Baker to quit mining and move to a farm near Galena today. The body was brought to Galena today and the funeral services were held this afternoon in the Baptist church, Rev. J. S. Umberger officiating. Interment in the Lowell cemetery.
