Age 78, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2008, at home surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.

Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of the late Harry T. and Florence (Murphy) Larrimore. He was a graduate of Conrad High school, class of 1948. Allen proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Rodman from 1951 until 1954. He worked for the DuPont Co. as an office manager in the pigments department, retiring in 1990 after 41 years of service. He was a member of Greenhill Presbyterian Church. Allen was a longtime fan of the University of Delaware Football Team, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Philadelphia Phillies. He was especially fond of his 2 cats, Missy and Squeeky.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jean (Cross) Larrimore; his daughter, Robin Larrimore of Wilmington; his son, Scot A. Larrimore and his wife Heather of Stevens, PA; and his nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Harry "Larry" Larrimore and Robert "Bob" Larrimore and his sister, Edna Boggs.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek on Thursday morning, April 24, at 11 am, where friends may visit with the family from 10-11 am. Burial will be in Greenhill Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Allens memory to Greenhill Presbyterian Church, 3112 Kennett Pike, PO Box 3892, Wilmington, DE 19807-0892; or to Delaware Hospice, 3515 Silverside Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810.
