Ida attended school near her home and graduated from Cheyenne Valley High School in 1950, where she was the Valedictorian of her class. Ida then went to Oklahoma A & M, where she met her first husband, Larry Russell. In 1951, Larry and Ida were married in Fairview. Larry and Ida would soon move to Noxon, Montana on Fire Lookout, where she would feed the squirrels. Ida and Larry would later move to Los Angeles, California and then in 1959 they moved to Denver, Colorado, where Ida would spend most of her life. In 1973, Ida went to work at the General Conference Office of the Church of God (7th Day) located in Broomfield, Colorado. For many years, Ida and Larry were involved in a successful fireworks business. Ida and Larry had two children, Richard and Dianna. Ida had three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The marriage between Ida and Larry ended in 1988. Larry preceded Ida in death on March 5, 2018. On April 22, 2007, Ida married Robert Coulter. Ida and Robert lived in Colorado and Texas. Ida and Robert liked to travel and enjoyed attendance at General Conference Conventions. Ida liked to do macrame, sew, cook, entertain, play card games, and then, for about two years, she and a church friend would make and decorate cakes for church functions. Ida liked sports; she was a fan of Mickey Mantle, Joe Namath and the Denver Broncos. Ida was a lifelong member of the Church of God (7th Day).
Ida was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Edith Burlison; and one brother Allan Burlison. Survivors are her husband, Robert Coulter; children, Richard Russell and wife Wilma and Dianna Lenzen; grandchildren Phillip Russell, Ashley Lewis, and Zachary Lenzen; and great-grandchildren, Reagan Lewis and Jackson Russell. Ida is survived by a brother, Charles Burlison and wife Waynetta; and other nieces and nephews.
