SOUTH BEND - Leonard C "Bud" Swinsick Jr., 60, of Richland. Mich., formerly of South Bend, died at 11:45 a.m. Friday in his home. Mr. Swinsick owned Lovell Opticians Inc.. Kalamazoo, from 1980 until 1988, and was employed by Community Vision Clinic until he retired in 1991. He was born on Nov. 27, 1934, in South Bend. On April 16, 1986, he married Nel Nesbitt. She survives with a daughter, Kathleen Mace of Yorktown; two sons, Leonard "Butch" of Galesburg, Mich., and Mark of Yorktown; a step- daughter, Kelly Harrington of Kalamazoo; a stepson, Mark Harrington of El Cajon, Calif.; six grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Printha and Eugene Radecki of Grand Rapids; and a brother, Charles Swinsick of Lawton, Mich. He was an Army veteran.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Kalamazoo. Cremation will follow. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Langeland Memorial Chapel, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo, the faimly or the church.
