MRS. JAMES ALLEN DIES JANUARY 13

Mrs. Pearl E. Allen, wife of James E. Allen died at her home west of Ava, Jan 13, 1951, after a lingering illness at the age of 70 years and 17 days. The daughter of M. T. and Lizzie Smith. She was born December 26, 1880, in Christian County.

She was converted and joined the Baptist Church early in life.

She was united in marriage to James S. Allen, July 31, 1904. To this union eight children were morn. two children preceded her in death, Adran when an infant and Basil in 1941.

She is survived by her husband, five sons, and one daughter, Chester Allen, Clyde Allen and Carl Allen of Ava, Clell Allen of Riverbank, Calif., Uba Allen and Mrs. Nola McClain of Twin Falls, Idaho.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, two brothers, Efton and George Smith, both of Rogersville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Allen were conducted at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Monday afternoon, January 15, by Rev. William Miller, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial was in Arden Cemetery.
