George William Prevett, 54, Hillsboro, died at 3:31 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 1993, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
He was born on April 18, 1939, at West Plains, Missouri, the son of Theodore and Laura Moore Prevett. On December 27, 1959, he married Rosa Rupe at Wapello County.
He was agent for the North American Van Lines and a avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife and four children, Renee Ridinger of Mt. Pleasant, Greg Prevett of Brighton, George Prevett Jr., of Hillsboro and Roger Prevett of Stockport; 13 grandchildren; four brothers, and five sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Funeral services for Mr. Prevett were held Tuesday, August 3, at the Hillsboro Baptist Church. The Revs. Glen Richard and David Doerr officiated. Burial was in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
The Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant was in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has been established.
