Merrill William Piggott
May 8, 1937 — November 13, 2023
Merrill William Piggott was born May 8, 1937 in Bloomington, Idaho. Our Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend passed away November 13, 2023 in his home in Bountiful, Utah.

Merrill was the second of 5 children followed shortly by his twin sister. He was born to William Madsen and Blanche Barker Piggott. He graduated from Fielding High School Paris, Idaho in 1955. In September 1955, he married his high school sweetheart Mary Rogers in the Salt Lake Temple. They were married 63 years before Mary's passing. Together they have 4 children. Merrill lovingly referred to his children as his "blessings that keep on giving"

Merrill is survived by his children Bradley William Piggott, (Kathrine Mace) Douglas Merrill Piggott (Sandra Lynn Cline) Bryan Kenneth Piggott (Kristin Reid), and Brenda Lee Piggott Burnett (Gregory Burnett) 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Dad graduated from LDS Business College and worked as CFO for Mountain States Bindery for 39 years before retiring.

Dad loved being involved with his family and could often be found working on a project with his kids. He loved to see his family succeed and did all he could to help them achieve their goals. He was an avid storyteller with a great sense of humor and wit. He loved golf, reading, music, and watching an old time western movie. His greatest love was Mom. He adored her and longed to be with her once again.

Dad and Mom served in the Bountiful Temple together and served a mission as Directors of the Humanitarian Center. Dad loved serving in the church. He was a dedicated servant of the Lord and he gave his best effort in each calling he received.
The Piggott Family would like to thank Dr. Joshua Oaks for his many years of care for Dad. We would also like to recognize and thank his nurse Jennifer with elevation Hospice for her loving care for dad in his last months.

Family was everything to Dad and he was not shy about sharing his stories of and love for his family. He was a wonderful patriarch for our family and his presence will truly be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2023 at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 East Mueller Park Road, Bountiful, where a viewing will be held Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday morning from 12:00 - 12:45 p.m. prior to services.
