Robert Brown Obituary

Mr. Robert Lee "Brownie" Brown, 84, longtime resident of Hawthorne, Florida, died Sunday, June 4, 2023, in the Shands Hospital, following a long illness.
Mr. Brown was born in East Liberty, Ohio, on May 8, 1939, to the late Franklin (Jack) and Marie Brown. He lived for many years in Toronto, Ohio, working as an instrumentation technician for Ohio Edison and then came to Hawthorne, Florida in 1990, and worked for Georgia-Pacific, until his retirement in 2003.
Brownie, as he was known to his friends, enjoyed golfing, bowling, woodcarving and playing softball. He was an avid Ohio State football fan and loved watching the Buckeyes play.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Leroy Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Karen Brown; two daughters, Dona (Stephen) Duckworth, Toni (David) Calabrese; a stepson, Neil Adams; two step-daughters, Janie Bragg and Jamie Adams; a sister, Mary Lou (Jeff) Van Sickle; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will host a time of celebrating Brownie's life and all friends are invited to join them on Thursday, June 8, 2023, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the family home, 242 Ash Street, Hawthorne. Also a celebration of life will be held in Toronto, Ohio, at a later date.
