Mary Jean (Shrum) Dodd was born on January 18TH, 1937 IN Lafayette, TN and left us to be with the Lord November 13th, 2023, in The Woodlands, TX at the age of 86.
Known by the name of Jean, Mom and or Nanny. Our beloved Nanny loved to cook and have her family gathered around her. If it was not her family, it was her church family she loved to be around. Jean was a member of The Longmire Road church of Christ and nothing pleased her more than going to church and hearing God's word or socializing with everyone. Jean grew up in Lafayette, TN and graduated from Macon County High School in 1955 at which time she moved to Nashville to attend Drone's Business College, which would lead her to meet her husband, Bobby Dodd of 42 years.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Jewell Shrum and Selma (Brooks) Shrum, sister Evelyn Dallas, and her beloved husband Bobby Ray Dodd.
She is survived by her sister Judy Jenkins of Lafayette, TN, Children: Mike Dodd and wife Sharon of Conroe, Tammy Leverett and husband Mickey of Willis, Matt Dodd and wife Debi also of Conroe. Jean is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation for Jean will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Funeral service will occur on Friday, November 17, 2023 beginning at 2:00PM at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Graveside will follow in Garden Park Cemetery in Conroe with Pastor John Hilbig officiating. Serving, as pallbearers are Jason Gray, Jordon Sunday, Michael Dodd, Tony Jenkins, Wayne Dallas and Tyler Jenkins.
