He was a member of Shelbyville First Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer and truck driver for Southern States Shelbyville. He was a veteran of the US Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Clara Bell Terrell Atchison, his brothers, Owen and Ray Atchison.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha L. Atchison of Shelbyville, his son, Charles Thomas "Tom" (Liz) Atchison of Shelbyville, his granddaughter, Candace Atchison Fields (John) of Falmouth, his grandson, Connor Davis of Lexington and his brother, Marvin Atchison of Smithfield.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Shannon Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-8 P.M. Wednesday, November 15th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Defoe Cemetery.
