Beatrice Evelyn "Bea" Alexander, of West, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2008, at her residence. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 21, at the funeral home.

Bea was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba, Canada, to the late Steve and Pauline Lenuke Marchenski. She attended school in Winnipegosis. On May 21, 1960, she was united in marriage to Harold T. Alexander in Tulsa, Okla. She worked for the Department of Defense at Ft. Mead, Md., for 26 years until her retirement in 1972. She loved baking, sewing, gardening, wine making and the country life. Bea was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 980 in Bellmead for over 40 years and a long time member of the Downtown Waco Bible Class.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Morrow.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 48 years, Harold T. Alexander, of West; son, Ronald H. Alexander, of Anchorage, Alaska; daughters, Carolyn Harvey and Tommie Sue Savina and husband, Jack, all of Anchorage, Alaska; brothers, Peter Marchenski, of Brandon, Manitoba, Canada and Mac Marchenski and wife, Tillie, of Sidney, B.C.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
