Brother Stephens as a kind and devoted husband and father as well as an obedient child of God. The funeral service was conducted by the writer, assisted by Rev. Mr. Booth, of the United Brethren Church, and his body was laid to rest in the Limestone Cemetery to await the resurrection morning when this corruptible shall be put on incorruption and this mortal put on immortality.
The family has the prayer and sympathy of their pastor in this time of trouble. We can only say to them, look beyond this vale of tears, for Brother Will is not dead but sleepeth. The pastor, B.N. Simmers
Whereas, God in the course of His divine providence has called from among us our brother and co-worker, Mr. W.P. Stephens, we, the Limestone Class of the Methodist Protestant Church, do adopt these following resolutions:
(1) That we as a church and Sunday School of which he was a faithful and devoted member, do freely admit our loss to Him, while yet accepting His providence as faithful and true.
(2) That we hereby extend to Sister Stephens and family our heartfelt sympathy and will pray for them that His grace may be sufficient for them in this their hour of deepest need.
(3) That a copy of these resolutions be submitted to the church paper for publication; also that a copy be placed upon the minutes of the church book, and a copy be sent to the family of the deceased at Windy W.Va.;
