Marvin attended Hallett Schools and shortly after graduating from Hallett in 1951, Marvin married his first wife Willie Towell of Hominy, Oklahoma, together they had six children. Marvin later married Lavon Martin Howard on February 22, 1991.
Marvin worked for many years in the oilfield industry.
Following working in the oil industry Marvin accepted a position with Ford Glass Company of Broken Arrow. He retired with thirty-three years of service as a production foreman.
