Forrest C. Ames, age 85 of 2430 Mary Street, Marinette, WI died February 26, 1993 at Pine View Health Care Center of Peshtigo, WI. He was born August 10, 1907 in Daggett, MI.

He had resided in Marinette for most of his life, graduating from Marinette High School in 1926. For many years, he had been employed by Wisconsin Public Service Corp. He also had owned and operated Servicemaster of Marinette and Menominee. He was long active in music, and was a former director for the Marinette City Band and directed a youth orchestra at First Methodist Church and played in the Tripoli Shrine Band of Green Bay. For many years, he had his own band The Forrest Ames Orchestra , that played for many functions in the area.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church; Marinette Masonic Lodge; The Royal Arch Masons and Marinette Commandery-Knights Templar; member of Beja Shrine Temple of Green Bay; the Twin City Shrine Club and an honorary member of the Oconto Shrine Club.

On November 12, 1935 he married the former Jean Merritt in Menominee, MI.

Surviving are his wife Jean; a son Robert (Susan) Ames of Middleton, WI; two daughters: Mary Jean (Rodney) Hoeft of Green Bay, WI and Susie Shackleton of Louisville, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.
