Margaret L. Davis, 87 of Norcross, GA, formerly of Richmond, passed away March 5, 2012. Mrs. Davis was the widow of Woodrow Davis.
She was born in Pebworth, KY on September 10, 1925 to Fred and Edna Hammons Edwards . Here in Richmond, she was referred to as the walking lady or Granny of Madison County.
She is survived by two sons; Gary L. Land and Edison L. Land, both of Richmond, two daughters; Connie Duvall of Frenchburg, KY and Joyce Elliott of Norcross, GA, , six grandchildren; Stephanie Clark (Harry), Eldon Land (Heidi), William Jason Elliott, Misty Fletcher, Crystal Land and Stacey Cristy (Nick), five great grandchildren and her brother; William Edwards.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Rudale Edwards and her sisters: Betty, Suzie, Barbara, Bertha and Ruth.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Combs, Parsons Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Hisel officiating. Burial will follow in the Newnam Cemetery in Owsley County. Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.
