Graveside services for Doris Allene Shandley will be held at 2 pm Saturday November 11, 2023, at the Robert Lee Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday November 10th at Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee, Texas from 4 PM to 6 PM. Mrs. Shandley passed away November 8, 2023, in Boerne, Texas.
She was a long-time member of Robert Lee Baptist Church and West Odessa Baptist Church.
Doris was born June 11, 1929, in Robert Lee, Texas to John and Bertha Hamilton. She married Raymond D. Shandley on November 14, 1947, in Plains, Texas.
Doris never met a stranger and could always make you smile and laugh. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her three children were her most precious possessions. She was tough on them at times, but she taught them to stand tall and have the strength to face the world. She will be sorely missed, but happily remembered.
Doris was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband Ray, four sisters and four brothers, one grandson, Michael Lane Shandley and several nieces and nephews.
Doris is survived by two sons and their wives, Stephen Lynn Shandley and Joy, Marlin Lane Shandley and Gayle and 1 daughter and her husband, Beverly Nell Jepson and Rick, wife of Michael Shandley, Sabrina. Five grandsons: Lance Shandley and Cari, Joseph Shandley, Logan Moseley and Nichole, Cody Shandley and Brenda, and Landon Shandley and Angie and several great grandchildren. In addition, she leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
