FORT WORTH - Celine Emily Lafferty Aaron, 90, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 6, 2023.

Celine was born January 9, 1933, to Henri and Marie Lafferty in Stoney Rapids, Saskatchewan Canada as the ninth of 12 children. She grew up in a one room house and loved to go fishing and hunting with her father while also playing guitar by ear and the accordion.

In 1951 she traveled to the US to take care of her older sister, Gerry, in Fort Hood Killeen, Texas who was married to Keith Muncy an Army GI, as Gerry recovered from surgery. While in Killeen Celine taught dance lessons for the USO where she met her future husband, Richard Wentz, an Air Force GI stationed at nearby Gray AFB. After briefly returning to Canada, she moved back to Texas to marry Richard in November 1953. They ultimately had eight children together from 1955 to 1972 and were stationed stateside as well as Germany and Guam during his 23-year Air Force career.

Celine was a busy stay-at-home Mom until her youngest daughter started kindergarten, and then she began a 19-year career working for the BX/AAFES at Carswell AFB here in Fort Worth where Richard decided to retire from the Air Force. After they divorced, she continued working full time and taking care of her younger children with a strong commitment to her faith that carried her through these difficult years of her life.

She later remarried Roger Dale Aaron in 1986 and gained three adult stepchildren. After retiring from AAFES in 1995 she didn't stay idle too long as she opened a Craft Consignment Shop known as "Crafter's Haven". Celine decided to fully retire in 1997 to begin taking care of her granddaughters when one of her daughters returned to work.

Celine was an active member at Holy Family Catholic Church for about 20 years and loved to sing, so she joined the Church Choir and the Catholic Daughters Organization. When husband, Roger, passed away in 2001, she joined their Widows Group where she made some long-lasting friendships. She enjoyed spending time with her sister, Gerry, until she passed as well as with her grandkids and kept busy at the White Settlement Senior Center for daily activities, eventually joining their Choir Group.

In late 2016 she began her journey living in Assisted Living Communities due to the onset of Alzheimer's Disease. Her spirit remained upbeat as she was often seen dancing around the community when music was playing and singing to songs she remembered when entertainment was provided to the residents. She also gained the title of "Miss Canada" from the staff. Despite living with the effects of Dementia for the last seven years, which erased so many of her memories, she remained appreciative to those who took care of her. Her daughter often heard her thanking caregivers and she would also tell her family how much she appreciated them for all they did for her, which continued until the last few months of her life.

Celine was preceded in death by husband, Roger Dale Aaron; her parents, Henri and Marie Lafferty; her 11 siblings, Germaine Muncy, Alphonse Lafferty, Jean Louis Lafferty, Magliore Lafferty, Antoinette Gately, Marie Tralnberg, Margaret Beverage, Agatha Kerr, Alida Phaneuf, Dorothy Cumming, Jeanette Lafferty, and her granddaughter Dana Wentz.

Celine is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda Eger and husband, Bill, Richard Wentz Jr. and wife, Shenly, Lorraine Padron, Robert Wentz and wife, Arlene, Ronald Wentz, Debra Dickinson, Janet Wentz, Keith Fox and wife, Bobbie; her stepchildren, Robert Aaron and wife, Cathy, Roger Aaron Jr., and Angie Aaron; her grandchildren, Andrea Canfield, Ryan Wentz, Paul Eger, Brandon Ruiz, Kyle Eger, Ashley Emond, Chelsea Obregon, Brooke Papenfuss, Skylar Wentz, Lauren Papenfuss, Shania Wentz, and five step grandchildren; her great grandchildren, Will Eger, Abigail Brown-Ruiz, Jacob Eger, and eight step grandchildren. She also has numerous nieces, nephews, and their families across Canada.
