Edna C. Simpkins, 98 of Rushville passed away June 22, 2023
in Rushville. She was born March 30,1925 in Fayette County IN
to the late John Clinton and Beaulah (Kerschner) Hubbell. She
attended Connersville High School. Edna married Charles D Simpkins
June 26, 1943 and he preceded her in death November 15, 2013.
She was a long time active member of Little Flatrock Christian Church.
Edna was a part of the choir and Homebase.
She was a very hard working homemaker all of her life as she enjoyed
embroidering and sewing. Edna was a 10 year member of 4-H and later
became a 4-H Leader. She was a member of Harrisburg Lodge and
proud to be a Rebekah.
Edna is survived her children, Janice(John) Morris of Pendleton,
Phyllis Jane LaFollette of Noblesville, James (Debra)Simpkins and
Michael (Karen) Simpkins. She will also be missed by her grandchildren,
John LaFollette, David LaFollette, Andrew(Julie) Simpkins and Amanda Wallace,
and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Winks
of Pittsburgh.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Everett
Hubbell, Kermit Hubbell and sister Alma Dinsmore.
Services will be held Wednesday June 28, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Moster
Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Patrick Smith presiding. Friends are welcome
to visit with the family in the mortuary from 10 AM until the time of the service.
Burial will be held in Lick Creek Cemetery , Fayette County. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Little Flatrock Christian Church.
