Son of Rosa Baron who resided in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Leo served as a Staff Sergeant & Left Waist Gunner on B-17F "Patsy Ann III" #42-30273, 334th Bomber Squadron, 95th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on August 11, 1942 in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a typist and also as Single, without dependents.

B-17F #42-30273 left Station 119 in England on a bombing mission over Munster, Germany. They were attacked by a German aircraft that blew the tail section completely off and they crashed near Bertling House, Sinningen, Germany approximately 13 miles North of Munster, Germany during the war.

Leo was "Killed In Action" in this attack.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Service # 31111417

Leo was originally interred in Belgium and was later repatriated here on May 26, 1949.
