Edward H. Chiarini, 79, died in his home at East Clen-Moore Boulevard.

Parents: Thomas and Lucy Conto Chiarini.

Wife: Shirley Davis, married on May 19, 1953.

He was a conductor on the B and O Railroad retiring after 44 years. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served with the 5th Infantry Division. He received the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. He was a former member of the Sons of Italy, the American Legion and the United Transportation Union. He enjoyed golfing and was an umpire for Lawrence County Baseball for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening and took pride in his 8-feet-high hibiscus plants. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Relatives: three daughters and sons-in-law, Rhnee and Timothy Jenkins, and Marcella Jones and Franklin Busch, all of New Castle, and Christine and Richard Bangor of East Liverpool, Ohio; three brothers, Lawrence Chiarini of Virginia, and Eugene Chiarini and Leonard Chiarini, both of New Castle; a sister, Betty Walker of Bakersfield, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Adrian Amabile, Kylee Criss, Leigh-Ann McKee, Steven Jenkins, Michael Jenkins, Lindsey Jones, Christopher Jones, Zachary Bangor and Alexandra Bangor; and three great-grandchildren, Nicolas Caputo, Gavin Criss and Gage Criss. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Chiarini Jr.
