RAINES
Mr. Norman Franklin Raines, 85, of Helena, Miss., passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, at home.

Mr. Raines was born June 17, 1922, in Waynesboro, Miss., and was of the Protestant faith. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and had retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding Co. as a welder.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Elvie and Octavia Raines; his beloved first wife, Mamie Mae Raines; his second wife, Mattie Raines; his daughter, Norma Mae Hale; his son, Donald Raines; and his sister, Nora Wozencraft.

Mr. Raines is survived by his wife, Louise Raines of Moss Point, Miss.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alien (Nelda) Raines of Lima, Ohio, and the Rev. Earl (Kathy) Raines of Moss Point; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Robert) Evans of Helena, Miss.; a stepdaughter, Betty Slater; a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd (Helen) Raines of Hurley, Miss.; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, 2008, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Earl Raines officiating.

Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
Holder-Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
