Major League Baseball Player. Born Edward William Sourhardt, he made his major league debut as a right handed pitcher for the Providence Grays in the last game of the season on September 30, 1885. He played for the Philadelphia Athletics of the American Association League 1887 to 1890 and pitched a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Red Stockings on July 26, 1888. He finished his six season career with Cleveland Spiders in June, 1891 with 89 wins, 72 losses, 589 strikeouts and a 3.40 earned run average.
