SOUTH BEND - Geneva Hamilton , 96, of South Bend, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, in Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.

Mrs. Hamilton was born on Sept. 19, 1911, in Olaton, KY, and resided in the Michiana area her lifetime. On September 9, 1926, in Whiting, IN, as Geneva Quisenberry, she married Marion M. Hamilton , who preceded her in death on August 7, 1985.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Jane (Brad) Bisk of Libertyville, IL; two sons, Clifford (Betty) Hamilton of South Bend and Robert H. (Sandra) Hamilton of Dunnelleon, FL; and nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren whom she loved and cherished.

Mrs. Hamilton was the owner of Geneva's Beauty Salon for approximately 45 years up to the present time.

She will be sadly missed by her loving family, a very close friend, Mr. Wayne Dawson; and by her wonderful church family.

Mrs. Hamilton was a Charter member of Southlawn United Methodist Church and was very active in the church over many years. She loved to sing and cook and was an avid lover of fishing.

The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer's Association or to the Southlawn United Methodist Church, 60756 US#31 South, South Bend IN 46614.

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road / Indiana 23, South Bend.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, in Southlawn United Methodist Church, with Pastor Don Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call in the church one hour prior to service time.

The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extend its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Hamilton family.
