Carla was killed in a car/train accident in Putnam. She had lived most of her life in Valley Mills before moving to Putnam last April. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Charles O. Burns in 1972.
While in Valley Mills she had received all-district honors in band, one act play and UIL Calculator competition. At Baird High School she was an honor student and received all-district honors in band as a Clarinetist.
Survivors: mother Vina Leah Burns of Putnam; sisters , Jeanine Light; Shanon and Carmen Burns; brother, David Putnam and grandfather, Wallace Burns.
