Services at Shiloh for Joe S Davis
Funeral services were held at Shiloh Baptist Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 for Joe S Davis, 69, who died suddenly Sunday afternoon. The Rev. Towery Ware officiated.
Burial was in Halsell Cemetery with Houlka National Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was a farmer of the Shiloh community, and a school bus driver for Houlka the past 20 years. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Chickasaw County.
He leaves his wife, Eula Thompson Davis, two sons, Edwin Davis of Okolona and William Walker Davis of Houlka; one daughter, Mrs. Ethelene Maharry of Lupton City, Tenn.; one brother, Clarence Davis of Memphis, two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Edwards of Meridian, Miss., and Mrs. Florence Cole of Pontotoc, Miss., and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Howard Grimes, W A Gordon, Loyd Hamblin, L A Turner, Edward Washington, Alvin Collums, Curtis Bryant and Derwood McCullough.
