With great sadness, the family of Barry Harold Kaehn announce his passing in his 78th year at the Gorge Road Hospital on February 6, 2008.
He is predeceased by his wife Beverley who passed away on January 5, 2008 and his parents Connie in 1981 and Clifford in 1982. He is survived by his children; Arthur (Leslie) Hixon, BC; Deborah (Bill) Irwin, Kamloops; Michael, Victoria and Jennifer (Neil) Aldous, Victoria. Grandchildren Sarah and Emily Kaehn, Taryn and Brandon (Ailish) Irwin, Olivia and Hannah Kaehn, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Aunt Anita in Wilkie, Saskatchewan and her family.
Barry was born in Victoria in 1930, and grew up on James Island, Vancouver and Saanich. He attended Cloverdale Elementary School and Central High School. He was a long time employee of Harknett Fuel Co. Ltd., delivering stove oil all over Victoria and the Western Communities. Later on he was also a self employed businessman in Victoria.
Memorial service to be conducted by Gordon Thurston and will held March 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm at McCalls Bros. Funeral Services, 1400 Vancouver St., Victoria, BC. Interment at Ross Bay Cemetery with his wife. In lieu of flowers please give to the charity of your choice.
