Obituary.

Mary T. Scott was born in Kentucky May 10th, 1816, and died at the home of her son, J.S. Brown, near Mulvane, February 12, 1899, aged 82 years and 9 months. She moved with her father's family to Illinois and on February 13, 1834, she was married to Elijah Brown, who still survives her, being married 65 years less one day. In 1870 they moved with their son to Kansas, and located on a farm near Winfield, where they resided until three years ago. She was the mother of five children, a son and daughter survivng her. She became a Christian early in life and was very active in all Christian work until old age caused her to desist.

Funeral services were conducted at the home on Monday by Rev. Zimmerman, followed by burial at the Littleton cemetery.
