Patricia Jean Jones, age 80 peacefully passed away June 7, 2023, in Milton Freewater, OR.

She was born November 29, 1942, in Pendleton, OR to Glendon Terrance Herring and Margaret Tanner.

After graduating from Moapa Valley High School, she moved to Memphis, TN to live with her Aunt Lenore Kimble, whom she admired dearly.

It was there in Memphis that she met and married Roy Gene Jones. Roy was serving in the Navy and was stationed in Memphis at the time. Roy and Patricia were married on March 17, 1961. Together they welcomed 7 children, Patricia's desire her entire life was to be a mother.

Patricia and her entire family ended up settling in Alamo, NV in 1965, where they lived for 8 years. It was there in this small community that she had a love for the valley. She was very involved with her babies. By hand she washed 8 dozen cloth diapers at a time, assuring they were always very white. She was a supermom. Her love for dance became a passion after attending MVHS as a Debonette, so she started a young dance troop at the school in Alamo.

In 1973 the family moved to Hermiston, OR to be closer to her dad, Glenn. She became very busy while her children were all involved in afterschool sports and church activities.

She loved and appreciated the beauty in Oregon, often going on outings to the beautiful Blue Mountains with her family; hiking and collecting berries, (Huckleberries and Blackberries), take them home to freeze and make jams, jellies and juice.

As her children grew, she knew it was vital, having so many mouths to feed, that she learns gardening and how to raise farm animals. Although her children became very attached to the animals, they eventually understood which ones were there to help provide food for their family.

Patricia attended floral design school in Portland, OR and Blue Mountain Community College earning a degree in accounting. She opened and operated Hermiston Plant in Floral in Hermiston, OR. She loved to create beautiful designs for special occasions.

In 1980 Roy's employment took the family back to Nevada. They moved around for the next few years and during this time divorced. Patricia moved to Colorado to be closer to some of her children.

In 2015 she knew that her heart belonged home, in Oregon, to live out the remainder of her life peacefully surrounded by the beautiful countryside and her children.

Patricia is survived by her Aunt Lenore Tanner-Kimble, brothers: William (Dana) Herring, Jim Perkins and Michael Perkins; sister Kathy Womack; sons; Nick (Tammie) Jones of Milton-Freewater, Jason Jones of Weston, OR ;
