Jay Orville Heisler, 91, lifelong resident of Walker Township, died on Sunday, October 29, 2023, in Coaldale. He was the husband of Pauline (Koch) Heisler with whom he would have celebrated 72 years of marriage this December. Born in Walker Township on January 19, 1932, Jay was the son of the late Salem and Bertha Mae (Leiby) Heisler. A 1949 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Jay along with Pauline started the Heisler Egg Farm in 1952 and that business continues to operate today under their sons' management. A man with a huge sense of humor, he enjoyed doing a lot of traveling; riding snowmobiles and motorcycles; racing; and following the Phillies, Eagles, and Chiefs. Jay was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a lifetime member of Calvary Evangelical Church, Lewistown Valley to which he was devoted. A fluent Pennsylvania Dutch speaker, Jay belonged to the Grundsow Lodge. He was a big supporter of Tamaqua baseball and purchased the scoreboard for the field. Jay is survived by sons, Todd Heisler and his wife, Shelly and Kent Heisler and his wife, Susanne all of the Lewistown Valley; daughter, Dawn Delaney and her husband, Richard of Kansas City, Missouri; granddaughter, Lindsay Schegan and her husband, Zack; grandson, Jordan Heisler and his wife, Talli; step grandson, Phillip Kline and his wife, Kelani and their daughter Gwendelyn; great grandchildren, Caleb Schegan, Luke Schegan, Ella Heisler, and one on the way. Services will be held 2 PM on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Calvary Church, Lewistown Valley, 824 Catawissa Road, Tamaqua with The Rev. Kim Leskowich officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery will follow the services. Call Noon - 2 PM on Saturday in the church.
