Verla died Sunday, June 1, 1997, at her home in Auburn, following a long illness.
Verla was born July 29, 1929 in Auburn, the third of five children and only daughter of William Lyle and Nethie Leavitt Walton. She attended schools in Auburn and Afton and in Idaho Falls ID. She graduated from Star Valley High School with her class of 1947.
She married Ralph Izatt Feb 23, 1949 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was a nurse at the Star Valley Hospital for over 30 years, serving part of that tie as the head surgical nurse. Verla was described as quiet, kind, full of love, patient, considerate, honest, serving, organized, humorous and fun. She loved to read, do crafts and handiwork and work in her flowerbeds. She did beautiful crocheting and embroidery work.

She is survived by her husband Ralph, one daughter Eileen Burton of Auburn, three sons, Brad, also of Auburn, Len of Idaho Falls and Eddie of Nephi UT, three brothers, Forrest of Island Park ID and Beaver Dam, AZ and Michael of Salt Lake City and 12 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and a grandson.
