Rolland* Wayne Myers, Sr., of Gentry, Ark., passed away Sat., Oct. 8, 2022, at the Jamestown Nursing and Rehab (The Hotel) in Rogers, Ark., after his battle with dementia. He was born on July 31, 1940, in Coldwater Township, MI., the 10th child of Glen and Ida Myers.
Rolland married the love of his life, Judy Bennett, on July 31, 1965. They moved their family to Decatur, Ark., in 1975, where he began his career with Peterson Farms. After 27 years at Peterson Farms, Rod retired from the maintenance dept. in July 2002. He then spent his time fishing, gardening, spoiling his grandkids, and working on several different chicken farms. He was always happy, even into his last days.
Rod was preceded in death by his parents, Judy, his wife of 44 years, grandson Bryant McReynolds [#5472229, same cem.], five brothers, and four sisters. He is survived by his children: Rolland "Roddy", Jr. (Terri) of Decatur, Ark., Dawn Boren of Centerton, Ark., Shelly Sikes (Dusty) of Gentry, Ark., and Kim McReynolds (Shane O'Neil) of Gravette, Ark. Also surviving are a sister, Sharon Rodgers of Farwell, MI., grandchildren Natasha Myers, Cierra Boren, Lynzey and Dru Sikes, and Gracee and Conner McReynolds, and great-grandchildren Jazzy, Maurizio, and Zari Myers.
