Son of Laura Gertrude Austin who resided in Stamford, Connecticut.

Albert served as a Private First Class, Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 141st Infantry Regiment, 36th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Fairfield County, Connecticut prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on December 2, 1942 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a filer, grinder, buffer, and polisher of metal and also as Single, without dependents.

Albert was "Killed In Action" near Mignano Gap, Italy during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred in Italy and was later repatriated here on September 29, 1948.

Service # 31272309

His brother, EM2 Arthur D. Austin, was also "Killed In Action" during the war.
