Virginia Ann Osborn age 86, of Holgate, died Saturday evening, October 28, 2023 at the Henry County Hospital.
Her Legacy… Ann was born June 6, 1937 to Byron and Ruth (Steingass) Bauer in Defiance County. She graduated from Holgate High School in 1955. On June 8, 1957, she married Ronald P. Osborn. She was a nurse's aide at Heller Memorial Hospital for 15 years. She drove a Holgate School bus for 36 years and a cashier for the cafeteria. Ann was a member of Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria, on the Women's guild, sang in the choir and volunteered for VBS. She delivered meals on wheels, was a Holgate American Legion Auxiliary member and on the Holgate Bowling League. Ann enjoyed quilting with the New Century Quilters. She also enjoyed sitting on the porch, watching the traffic and waving at passerby's and talking with neighbors. If she wasn't on the porch, she was in the yard mowing or gardening. Ann loved camping, bus trips and spending time with her grand/great grandchildren!
Her Family… she is survived by sons, Michael (Vanessa) Osborn, Holgate and Gary Osborn, Lockport NY; daughter, Julie (Nick) Giesige, Holgate; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and a brother, Larry Bauer. Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband Ron in 2013, son Jeff; siblings: Jim Bauer, Dan Bauer, Janice Cain, Marge Lord, and Nancy Augsburger and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Osborn.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Thursday, November 2 from 3-8:00 pm and one hour at the church before the service . The celebration of Ann's life will be in Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Reverend Ed Briggeman officiating. Contributions in Ann's name can be made to Emanuel's Christian Church.
