Terry Johnson, age 63, of Lime Springs, IA, died on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus, in Rochester, MN.
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, and a Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
Terry Gailen Johnson was born in Cresco, IA, on November 20, 1958 to Thomas and Connie (Tweddale) Johnson. His mother later married Terry's step-father Morris Kalgaarden, and his father later married Judie Johnson. Terry grew up and graduated from Cresco, IA. He married Carolyn Wurl on May 2, 1992. Throughout his life, he worked at Davis Corner John Deere, as a mechanic for many years, as an over the road truck driver, and eventually became an owner and operator grain hauler. Terry loved the outdoors since childhood. His father patiently taught him target practice, to which he became an excellent shot. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Morris, son James Johnson, grandson Justin Johnson, and mother-in-law Bernice Wurl and father-in-law Donald Wurl.
Terry is survived by his wife, Carolyn; step-mother Judie; children Dean Johnson, Jackie (Cory) Ator, step-son Brian McFarlin, daughter-in-law Jenny Johnson; grandchildren Sydney (Charles) Morgan, Addison and Aubrey Johnson, Eryn Bryn, Jasmine, Carly, and Jalissa Ator; great-granddaughter Skye Morgan; sister Kim (Kevin) Huinker; half-sisters Jen (Cori) Peterson, Amanda (Bret) Maki; brothers-in-law, Ron Wurl, Al Wurl, Myron Wurl; many aunts and uncles, nieces Katie (Cody) Schweinefus, Kelsey Huinker (Mitch Liddle), and Kirsten Huinker, and many other nieces and nephews.
