Jon Jay Baker, went to be with the Lord peacefully and surrounded by his entire family on October 26, 2023, his 78th birthday. Jay is survived by his loving wife, Candyce Baker to whom he was married for 57 years; their children Jay Allan and his wife Heather, their children Katlyn and her husband Daniel, Bethany and her husband Bronsen, and Nathan; Julie and her husband Lance and their son, Drew; Jodie and her husband Joe, and their children Abigail and Jacob; Jarrett and his husband Tyler; his brother Terrill and his wife Mary. Jay is predeceased by his parents Lewis and Averal and his brother Ronald.

Jay earned an Associate in Arts degree from El Camino College. He was drafted for duty on January 30, 1968. He bravely and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army through January 29, 1970. He served in the 1st Armored Division - Old Ironsides and was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. He worked as an IBM Assembler and CICS systems programmer.

Services will be held at Greenwood Cemetery pavilion in Fredericksburg, Texas on November 3, 2023 at 12:00 pm. A visitation period before the service at 11:30 am will be available to greet the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able to instead make a donation to Tunnel to Towers in his name.
