GRACE - Denise Kay Peterson, 43, of Grace, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at her home. She was born August 18, 1962, at Brigham City, Utah, the daughter of Dennis and Barbara Hermansen Mellor. She lived in Brigham and Kearns, Utah, until the age of 5, when her family moved to Grace, Idaho. She graduated from Grace High School.
Denise married Matthew Dale Peterson June 20, 1980, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served as Young Women's advisor, Primary teacher, Scout leader and Relief Society chorister. She was a hospice volunteer and had worked as office manager for Maag Medical Supply in Soda Springs, and at Bear River Vision in Soda Springs, and also for Dr. Christiansen in Pocatello.

She enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, reading and music. She liked riding the four-wheelers in the mountains. She liked baking and just being a mom, and being with family.

She is survived by her husband, Matthew, two sons and two daughters, Joshua Dale, Jacob Taylor, Andrea Kay and Amanda Ileene, all of Grace, Idaho; also her parents, Dennis and Barbara Mellor of Grace, Idaho; one brother and three sisters, David A. and Erin Mellor, Soda Springs, Idaho, LaDawn and Pat White, Grace, Idaho, Christine and Kent Allen, Raft River, Idaho, and Connie and Allen Viehweg, Inkom, Idaho; and her many nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday, October 8, 2005, at noon at the Grace LDS Stake Center in Grace, Idaho. Family will meet with friends Friday evening, Oct. 7 from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs, and on Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Grace Stake Center prior to services. Burial will follow at the Grace Cemetery.
