Virginia "Ginger" Nell (Davis) McDowell, age 76 of Jena, Louisiana was received into Heaven on Monday, March 27, 2023.

She was born to the union of George W. Davis, Sr. and Nellie Virginia (Green) Davis on Thursday, October 31, 1946, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Ginger was preceded in death by husband Eugene McDowell, first husband Ira "Butch" Ganey, her parents, her only brother George W. Davis, Jr., and only sister Cornelia A. (Davis) Wallace,

Those left to love and miss her are her children Scott Ganey & wife Lisa, of Jena, Janine (Ganey) Brown & husband Chad, of Jena, and Curt Ganey & wife Krista, of Olla, eight (8) grandchildren LaRae Ganey, Chelsea Ganey, Cheyenne Ganey, Cody Brown, Logan Brown, Bryson Ganey, Cutler Ganey, and Kinlie Ganey, six (6) great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, from 5:00PM until 8:00PM.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Johnnie Phillips and Rev. Scotty McDowell officiating. Ginger will be laid to rest in the Woodland Cemetery, of Jena following the service, under the directions of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers for Ginger will be Chad Brown, Cody Brown, Logan Brown, Bryson Ganey, Cutler Ganey, and Cody Hemperley. Honorary pallbearers are Dewey Wayne Stockman, Andrew Sanders, and Lawson Little.
