Shirley Ruth Carter, 89, of Shelbyville, Texas, was born on June 29, 1934, in Bebe, Texas, to the late Jesse Allen and Evelyn Ruth McGinty Allen. Shirley Ruth grew up in Gonzales County. She graduated from high school and married the love of her life, Bruce Carter, and the two spent many wonderful years together before his passing in 1986.They raised three girls. Shirley Ruth loved listening to music. She enjoyed reading and spending precious time with her grandchildren. Shirley Ruth loved the Lord and served him throughout the years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Shelbyville.
