Services for Fred Jacques, age 71, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, at Resthaven's Abbey Chapel with the Rev. John Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. The Air Force Honor Guard from Cannon AFB, N.M. will provide full military honors.

Fred passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, in Lubbock. He was born April 9, 1932 in Providence, R.I. He married Jeanne Valois on Oct. 12, 1954 in Crompton, R.I. He served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. He moved to Lubbock in 1973 and was stationed at Reese Air Force Base where he retired as Senior Master Sergeant in 1976. Following retirement, he worked in Lubbock as an appliance technician for J.C. Penney and Sears. He was also an active member of the Rearview Mirrors, Billy Sims Hub City Wheels, and WIT RV Clubs.

He is preceded in death by a granddaug hter, Kelly Anne Jacques. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; three sons, Steve and wife, Debbie Jacques and their two daughters, Tracy and Amy of LaPlata, Md., Jeff and wife, Glenna Jacques and their daughter, Danielle of Lubbock, and Jim Jacques of Phoenix, Ariz. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Peter Jacques of Rhode Island; a sister, Elayne Dolphin of Rhode Island; two half-sisters, Lynn Potter of Rhode Island and Merlene Brayton of Virginia.
