From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Mr. Joe Henry Gonzales of Fredericksburg entered into God's Kingdom on Sunday, October 15th at the age of 68 years.

Joe Henry Gonzales was born on December 16th,1954 in Llano, Texas to Felix and Juanita Aleman Sr. But don't you dare call him Joe, because he always said "It's Henry."

Henry married Christina Reyes in November of 1994 in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Henry was the most loving, devoted husband and father who is survived by his wife: Christina Reyes Gonzales of Fredericksburg, daughter Jodie Hostetter of San Antonio, son Joshua Gonzales of Fredericksburg, daughter Jasmine Gonzales of Austin, stepdaughter Dina Vargas and spouse Richard Vargas, stepson Victor Flores and spouse Amber Flores, and stepson Danny Flores Jr. and spouse Lucretia Flores.

Henry was the proud grandfather of: Danielle and Juliana Vargas, Lily Hostetter, Adly Gonzales, Jacob, Clayton, Blake, Danny III, Darren, Ryan, Abby, Robbie, and Annlynn Flores.

He is survived by his parents: Felix and Juanita Aleman Sr., five brothers and two sisters: John and Beva Aleman, Carmen and Edward Comacho, Felix and Sandra Aleman Jr., Jessie and Maria Aleman, Frankie Aleman, Mary and Raymond Beltran, and Gilbert Aleman.

Henry was an active and doting father who spent a lot of his time coaching his children's teams in softball and baseball. He actively played softball and volleyball with friends for many years.

When he wasn't on the field, you could catch him on the road in his favorite blue 18-wheeler. Henry loved to travel on the open road as a truck driver working for the Gypsum Mine and Kenneth Crenwelge Co.

He was a devoted man of God with a faith that was unshakeable even in the most troubling of times.

As an active member at St. Mary's Catholic Church he volunteered for many activities along with the Knights of Columbus, and St. Joseph's Society. He achieved the high honor of Deputy Knight for the Knights of Columbus.

He had a knack for making people laugh and smile. He was the best friend anyone could ask for; often willingly sacrificing his time and efforts for others in need. Henry was a man you could always rely on. He often referred to his best friends as his second family, and those friends are his pallbearers and honorary pallbearers today: Kendnel Kasper, Kyle Kasper, Ronald Stehling, David Stahl, John Sanchez, Kirby Davis, and Bryan Fiedler.

Honorary pallbearers: Yollie Kasper, Charlotte Grobe, Glenda Stehling, and Michelle Stahl.

Henry is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosie Acevado Gonzales and best friend, Dennis Grobe.

The family will greet friends on Friday, October 20th from 12 noon to 2 P.M. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Mass of Resurrection at 2 P.M.

Entombment will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum with reception to follow.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank Texas Oncology: Dr. Barrington and staff along with Methodist Hospital Hospice.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in his memory to the St. Joseph's Halle
restoration, Knights of Columbus, or to the charity of your choice.

Henry, you will be dearly missed by all.
