Dolores Renfroe

Dolores Renfroe went to her heavenly home on October 20, 2023, after a lingering illness.
She was born February 2, 1930, in Bonner Springs, Kansas to Roy and Ethel (Gregory) Herring. She was a middle child, having two older brothers and a sister, as well as two younger brothers and a sister.
She graduated high school from Lefors, Texas. She moved to Borger soon after, and spent most of her adult life here. She went to work for the Borger Housing Authority as secretary and advanced to the Executive Director position, where she retired after almost 27 years of service. Among other things, she was the president of the Texas Housing Authority. During her tenure as Director, she presided over the renovation project on Florida and the addition of Del Coronado on Main Street. She loved her work.
She was very active in the Altrusa Club where she served in various positions including president. She was also a part of the founding of Buttercup House Day Care for children, serving on the board for many years.
Being a Christian and a member of Calvary Baptist Church were important to her.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Raymond of the home; grandson Coby Medaris and Laura of Fritch; granddaughter Lindsey Lara and husband E.J. of Victoria; great-granddaughter Piper Lara of Victoria; brother Dale (Rooster) Herring and wife Cheryl of Perryton; brother Norman Herring of Amarillo; and sister Charlotte Davis of Perryton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joe Dean Medaris; two brothers and a sister. She will be greatly missed by her family and the community.
The family will be holding a memorial service at 11:00 am, November 4, at Calvary Baptist Church.
