Our beloved Rhydonna Lynn Pitts, age 76, of Conroe, Texas, fought a good fight, kept the faith, and finished her race on October 19th, 2023.

Rhydonna was born on January 28th, 1947 in Malvern, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late John Harvey and Laurice V. Alford Morris and the youngest of their 10 children. She is preceded in death by brothers, J.W. Morris, Kenneth (K.P.) Morris, Bill Morris, Jim Morris, Donald Morris, Aubrey (Pinky) Morris and sisters, Ara Lou Myers and Maxine Garrett.

She is survived by her loving husband Freddie Pitts, son Anthony Pitts and wife Erica, grandchildren, Bailee Pitts and Landon Pitts, brothers, Gary Morris, Jodie H. (Joe) Morris.

Rhydonna moved to Texas at the age of 8 years old and this is where she and her family soon began attending the church that would become Gulfgate United Pentecostal church. Here she met many of her lifelong friends that eventually led her, at the age of 26, to meet the love of her life, a country boy from Caney Creek named Freddie Gene Pitts. After a whirlwind romance of a few short months they were married and began their journey together that would eventually take them back to Caney Creek in Conroe, TX. That journey would include her miracle baby and the joy of her life, Anthony Gene Pitts. She kept God at the center of her life throughout this journey and He never failed her. They began attending Porter Apostolic Church in 1983 and remain faithful members to this day. She was an active Sunday school teacher in her church for over 50 years and a dedicated employee at Ben Milam elementary for over 30 years where she touched countless lives and made some of her best friends for life.

Of all these achievements in her life, none were more important to her than loving her family. She gave everything while expecting very little in return. Her grandbabies were her world and she considered them her greatest reward. As their "Mammaw", she loved them more than anything just as she'd loved her own son and her husband before them.

Anyone who knew her loved her and was changed by her. She was everyone's defender, advocate and friend. She leaves this world a better place as she now enjoys her new home in glory.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10:00am at Porter Apostolic Pentecostal Church with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Vick Cemetery.
