From Schaetter Funeral Home:

Waldene Beckmann was called home by her heavenly Father in the evening hours of October 19th, 2023. Her younger son Jeffery was by her side.

Waldene was born on October 15th, 1931 in Fredericksburg, Texas, the third of four children. Her parents were Walter and Hertha (Kott) Hahne.

Waldene started first grade in Fredericksburg speaking only German.

After graduating from Fredericksburg High School and working in a local grocery store she met and dated her future husband of 64 years Calvin H. Beckmann. One of their dates included her traveling to Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas where he was a member of the Corp of Cadets while majoring in Civil Engineering. She had to send a telegram to her parents of her safe arrival. She loved Texas A&M and was a loyal Aggie fan from then on.

Waldene and Calvin were married December 28th, 1951 in Fredericksburg. They started married life in St. Louis, Missouri while he served in Air force, then moved to Mineral Wells, Texas where they had their first of three children. Waldene always made a wonderful home wherever they lived.

Calvin's career with Gulf Oil Company started in Port Arthur, Texas.

During this early posting in Port Arthur their daughter was born in Fredericksburg. Six years later their third child was born in Port Authur. Three years later Calvin's job took the family to Rotterdam, Netherlands for 2 ½ years where she used her knowledge of the German language to make their adjustment of moving to a foreign country a little easier. They were transferred to Milford Haven, Wales in the UK for the last 3 years of their overseas deployment with Gulf oil.

They returned to the US and made their home in Port Neches, Texas until Calvin's retirement from Gulf Oil when they moved back to Stonewall, Texas.

All her life she used her skills with flower arranging, as a seamstress, baking Cakes, etc. and crafts to make the places they lived into their home away from home.

Waldene loved to see her six grandchildren whenever possible and especially loved seeing and hearing about her 13 great grand children.

In her final years she lived at Knopp Assisted Living Center in Fredericksburg and finally at Ascension Living Providence Village in Waco, Texas.

Waldene is survived by her three children and their spouses: Dwight F. Beckmann and wife Debbie of Lorena, TX, Sharon B. Coe and husband Stephen of Longview, TX, and Jeffery L. Beckmann and wife Judy of Harvest, AL.

Waldene lives on through her six grandchildren: Crystal Coe Weaver and husband Carl of Allen, TX, Kara Beckmann Crawford and husband Dustin of Waco, TX, Laura Beckmann of Lorena, TX, Jason W. Coe and wife Meridith of Harleton, TX, W. Clayton Coe and wife Megan of Melissa, TX, Todd F. Beckmann and wife Beth Ann of Highland Village, TX.

In addition to her grandchildren, she also had thirteen beloved great grandchildren: Madison, Jackson, Bella and Garrett Coe, Jonathan & Elizabeth Weaver, Wyatt and Harper Beckmann, Michaela Crawford, Maisie, Mollie, Wesley and Maggie Coe.

In addition to her parents, Waldene was preceded in death by her husband Calvin Beckmann, her little great granddaughter Emma Katherine Coe, and by her two sisters Francis Baethge and Doris Petsch, as well as her brother Homer Hahne.
