Gerald "Leroy" Allred, age 66, passed away at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born the son of Clyde and Shirley Allred on October 15, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Gerald grew up in Des Moines and graduated from East High School, Class of 1975.

He worked in the family logging business travelling across the Midwest.

Gerald enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, and board games with his family.

He always kept busy working on various household projects and enjoyed travelling with his wife. His greatest love in this life was spending time with his family, especially golfing with his grandsons. He will be remembered most for his never-ending dedication to help the people he loved.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack in infancy, and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 25, 2023, with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m., at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Avon Cemetery.
