At her request, there will be no services for Evelyn Elizabeth (Altman) Frederickson of Tigard, Ore, formerly of Nooksack. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Portland, Ore. Mrs. Frederickson died of natural causes Thursday, March 2, 2000, at her home. She was 88.
Mrs. Frederickson was born March 16, 1911 to Homer E. Altman and Jeanne D. McClure in Nooksack.
Mrs. Frederickson earned a master's degree in library science from the University of Washington. For more than 17 years, she served as a civilian employee for the US Air Force, first working at the Air Force Library on Okinawa and then later in Puerto Rico.
In 1964, she married Earl Leonard Frederickson on the US Air Force base in Sacramento, Calif. He died in 1992.
In 1966, they moved to the US Virgin Islands, where she worked as a librarian at a Peace Corps training camp and later at a public library there. Nine years later, they retired to North Bend and then Florence, Ore. Mrs. Frederickson spent her last years in Tigard.
Mrs. Frederickson was a member of the Christian Science Church for many years.
Her stepson Earl Gary Frederickson died previously.
Survivors include stepsons Andrew J. Frederickson of Tigard and Craig A. Frederickson of San Diego, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.
